How often should I service my air conditioning unit?

You should have it professionally serviced annually to ensure it is running in top form. This will also aid in eliminating the potential of major breakdowns that can be quite expensive.

What does SEER mean?

SEER stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating. 13 SEER, the most common rating, means that the system is 40% more efficient that a system eight years ago. The higher the SEER rating the better the overall rating is, and the lower your energy cost is.

How long will my air conditioner last?

Older units, made prior to 1980, typically last 10 to 15 years. Newer air conditioning units can last 15 to 20 years with proper maintenance.

My air conditioner is not blowing very cold air any long, why?

Without a proper diagnosis from one of our trained professionals, we can only guess. But more commonly, it is low refrigerant, or my have a plugged evaporator coil. Quite possibly both.

Should I change filters when running my air conditioner?

Yes! This is vitally important to maintaining an efficient running system. A good pleated filter for $3.00 or less can be purchased at your local hardware store. Replace it every 30 days of continued service.
